After only a few weeks have passed since the celebration
of the last edition of the Russian Fashion Week , the Russian
Fashion Council launches a proposal to the world in favor of
sustainability , a new international contest that seeks designers
from different styles, multiple formats and various types of garments and
accessories , show your proposals designed and made in an ethical and
sustainable way.
This incredible event will be held at the end of
July in digital format , as we are beginning to get used to it, and
applications to participate can be sent until June 30.

Requirements to participate in the new edition of Global
Talents Digital: sustainable fashion
Participation in this innovative format in terms of
fashion events is open to different professionals in the sector, not only
designers, but also artists, startups, models, bloggers and more
personalities interested, above all, in sustainable transformation.
The essential requirement that all of them must fulfill
is to carry out their work based on one of the innovative techniques based on
sustainability: recycling, upcycling or creative reuse, ethical
fashion, zero waste or the so-called slow fashion today .
The candidature to be submitted by each of the
professionals must be made as follows:
Designers must have less than five years of experience in
the sector and must submit a proposal based on a collection never before seen
by the public. This candidacy will be presented either in a presentation
video or in streaming. The couturiers who will ultimately participate in
the event will be selected by the Global Talents Digital International
Advisory Board .
On the other hand, the rest of professionals, including
multidisciplinary artists, startups, bloggers, models and NGOs, must submit
their participation proposals via email to the following email address: info@russianfashioncouncil.ru .
The main theme of the great event will be this edition,
as I have already mentioned, sustainability and everything that
revolves around the creation processes based on the previously mentioned
techniques.
It is an international project , whose main
objective is to show the world, through a sector as famous and globally
consumed as fashion, other available options, in order to find an ecological
alternative to the current situation. This initiative, in the long term,
does not seek to criticize the sector and contemporary practices, but to show
the public that garments can have another life beyond their usual use, to teach
a new way of shopping based on sustainability, in a more reasonable way and how
this philosophy of life can be extended to all areas, both personal and
professional.
Global Talents Digital puts in the hands of professionals
a platform to carry out all kinds of experiments and collaborations, with a
very clear purpose, to show the world that an alternative to the current
industry is possible.
Previous edition of the event, will the third manage to
keep up?
As I anticipated, this is the third edition of this
great alternative event based in Moscow , despite having an
international scope.
The last Global Talents Digital took place last September
2020, with an incredible number of visits: more than 7 million in, nothing more
and nothing less than, 1,519 cities around the world.
The great international reach was given thanks, not only
to the 103 participants from 34 countries , but above all to the
great repercussion it achieved, being projected on all kinds of websites and
social networks of up to 100 communication media from around the globe and in
more than 1,000 online and physical publications of major international fashion
media, such as the Italian and Russian sections of Vogue magazine, or Forbes
USA, among many others.
In addition, these great talented professionals received
all the possible support from the most important references in the sector,
among them, different Fashion Weeks at a global level and NGOs from around the
world.
You know that I am passionate about fashion and as I have
told you in previous posts , I really like the new visions that many
fashion firms are presenting, basing their new collections on sustainability
and caring for the environment and workers, something extremely today. For
this reason, this project seems to me to be something very interesting, because
of the idea on which it is based and because of the opportunity it offers new
entrepreneurs to make themselves known through an international platform.
