Sequins and polka dots, the must have of fashion 2021.
If we have learned something from the world of fashion, it is to pay attention to the parades of the great fashion weeks worldwide, mainly those in New York, Paris and Milan. These, and many others, are the ones that set the guidelines for the trends that will be worn season after season. We do not always see pieces that we can wear in our day to day, but it does serve as a source of inspiration to create our looks and to know what type of garments, colors and textures they will wear.
And two of the trends that we saw coming for this year
2021 are undoubtedly polka dots and sequins , although it is not
surprising, since both are classics of street style year after year.
The polka dots have not surprised us so much, since they
are perfect for any type of look, be it a more sophisticated style or
something more casual . What has caught our attention a little more
has been the return of sequins, commonly associated with parties and evening
looks and since due to restrictions we do not have any of these options,
What reason has brought these little brilliants back?
Well, as the Italian brand Missoni assures, sequins
have always been synonymous with celebration and this time it was not
going to be less, and now that it seems that little by little things are
improving (and we hope it continues like this), we can begin to celebrate, in a
prudent way, the return of the long-awaited normality.

Also, who said that sequins cannot be worn during the
day?
Polka dots, a pattern that never goes out of style
When we talk about moles we cannot avoid talking
about Carolina Herrera and if there is something immovable season
after season on the catwalks of this firm that is the moles and this year it
was not going to be less. But another pattern has appeared that will
become the direct competition of the international brand's garments,
hearts. And, with a format similar to polka dots, hearts, in the purest
Agatha Ruíz de la Prada style, in different sizes, colors and versions, will be
the star of Carolina Herrera's garments this 2021.
The collection presented by the Venezuelan designer for
next fall-winter 2021/2022 is inspired by the attitude of the residents of the
Big Apple, and has the two trends that have brought us here today, heart- shaped
polka dots and sequins .
We can find hearts especially in blouses and dresses, but
we can also see them in accessories or integrated into garments in button
format.
We can also see pieces with incredible polka dots, in
different colors, including the classic black and white combination. One
of my favorite bets in this regard is the use of two different funds in the
same garment, with polka dots on each of them in a complementary way.
But not only Carolina Herrera bets on polka dots, we can
find this pattern in a multitude of garments made by different brands and in
the most common stores.
Bet everything on glitter, and what better way to do it than with sequins?
After a fateful year, we began to see the light at the
end of the tunnel and what better way to celebrate it than to leave the
tracksuits and pajamas that defined our 2021 out of fashion and giving way to
garments that once again show the joy we feel when we dress up and celebrate. .
At the moment, this decade has little to do with the
crazy 20s of the last century, but if they have something in common so far it
is the casual aesthetics as far as fashion is concerned, although today the
garments have a more modern style, that's clear. We look back through the
hems, the bright colors, the cheerful prints and, of course, the
sequins. And it is that this 2021 we will see these brilliant pieces in
all kinds of garments, including jacket and trouser suits such as the one
presented by the Louis Vuitton firm in silver.
Do you dare with the looks that combine both trends?
And if I told you that it is possible to combine both
trends in a single garment and look perfect, what would you say to me?
The truth is that it is not something new, since we have
already seen this fusion on previous occasions, as is the case of the midi
dress in black with small white polka dots that Queen Letizia wore at the
Mariano de Cavia Journalism Awards ceremony in the year 2018, the three-quarter
dress by Paula Ordovás (@mypeeptoes) in red with large black polka
dots also from 2018, or the short gold dress with black polka dots that model
Helen Lindes wore during her pregnancy in 2018.
It is also ideal to combine sequins and polka dots in two
different pieces. Don't you know how to do it? Very simple, opt for a
sequined dress in a plain tone and add black tights with darker polka dots and
wear a sweet style ideal for any evening plan.
Although both trends seem too elegant for the plans we
are used to today, as I always tell you, fashion is an attitude, a
way of expressing yourself and it doesn't matter what time of day or what date
you have, you can look ideal with the garment you choose as long as you feel
comfortable wearing it yourself.
